Innovation

The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR)=
=2C Mr John Lee=2C delivered his first Policy Address under the new term o=
f Government on 19 October 2022.

Titled =E2=80=9CCharting a Brighter Tomorrow for Hong Kong=E2=80=9D=2C Mr=
 Lee sets out his vision for Hong Kong to advance from stability to prospe=
rity in the Policy Address.  In addition to reinforcing Hong Kong=E2=80=99=
s position as an international financial centre=2C international trade cen=
tre and shipping and aviation hub=2C a range of key initiatives have also=
 been proposed to attract businesses and talents=2C and promote innovation=
 and technology (I&T)=2C as outlined below:

=E2=80=A2 Promote I&T development and facilitate commercialisation of rese=
arch and development (R&D) outcomes:
- Attract 100 high-potential I&T enterprises to set up operations in Hong=
 Kong in next five years=2C including at least 20 top-notch I&T enterprise=
s
- Enhance existing technology talent schemes and build more accommodation=
 facilities for I&T talents
- Set up the $10 billion =E2=80=9CResearch=2C Academic and Industry Sector=
s One-plus Scheme=E2=80=9D (RAISe+ Scheme) to support commercialisation of=
 R&D outcomes by university research teams
- Press ahead with construction of the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and T=
echnology Park in the Lok Ma Chau Loop and development of San Tin Technopo=

Innovation Summit

The Innovation Summit is CW=E2=80=99s annual signature event in Spanish an=
d Portuguese speaking countries.  We organized the Innovation Summit in Br=
azil and Colombia this year.  Both are in hybrid mode.  We are lucky to go=
